I am new to this, what do I need?
In order to operate a website you need a domain name, a hosting account and the website itself.  There are companies that only sell domain names, some are offering hosting accounts only, some that offer web design only.

Do I own my domain name once I register it with you?

If you register with us, you own your domain name and have full control over it.

 

I have already a hosting account; can I just buy a website from you?
We will be happy to do that for you. Be aware that having a hosting account with us includes a free domain name registration and free email set up.

 

What are my recurring costs?

From our basic services the only recurring costs are yearly hosting fees.
Website design and Call Google are one-time fees. Only some add-ons like newsletterservice and news service are calculated on a monthly basis.

 

I like one of your samples.  Will my site look the same?
Not if you don't want to. We will create a new head image with your logo and slogan; adjust the navigation, change background colors and fonts. The result is a unique appealing website.

 

Why choose a website with more pages?
The quality of a website is not only decided by the visual effect, but also by the ease of navigation and the quality and amount of content.  Remember that search engines and customers have one thing in common: they love content.

 

Will I have to submit my website to search engines?
We do that for you. No extra charge.

 

Do you provide content?
We provide basic content with standard texts.

 

Will I be able to add pages later?
You can add pages or features whenever you want.

 

Once I have my website; will I be able to update it myself?
In order to create or update a website a special web publishing program is required.  These programs are expensive and difficult to understand for beginners.  There are programs available that are specifically made for updating websites created with our design tool.  For an additional one time fee, we can program your website in a way that you can update it yourself.  Please estimate the costs of the updating program as $100 or less, our work $45. Both are one-time costs.

 

How long does it take until my website shows on Google?
It's depends.  Usually it takes a couple of weeks until Google notices a new website.  It takes additional weeks to scan [index] the pages, evaluate the importance of the website and show it in the search results.  Awebsiteforlawyers.com offers a service that notifies Google - and Google usually responds within one or two days.  Our tool Call Google does not only notify Google, it also prepares content information, so-called site maps, for Google, Yahoo MSN and other search engines.  This way, we have seen new websites show on Google between four and 15 days after running Call Google.

 

How do I get to the first page on Google?

The easiest way for a new website is utilizing Google's pay per click service (also called Adwords). It will give you 1st page ranking instantly for a price of about $1 per visitor clicking on your ad. Getting to page one of Google's regular listing requires search engine optimization.

 

I want to upgrade from Office Live.  Can you help me?
Migrating from Office Live can be challenging.  We take the challenge for you.  Note that the domain transfer from Office Live might take longer than usual, since Office Live is only acting as a reseller for an Australian Company.

 

Do you offer Flash animations?
Flash animations for head images and content are offered for an additional rate.  Be aware that Flash cannot be read by search engines.  Since our clients love to be found on the Internet, we do not offer Flash introductions or Flash navigations.
